Topic: What really matters to me | |

Online dating is difficult when so many are not honest first of all with themselves and on their profile. Putting up pictures that are 10 years old, not being truthful about their body type or weight and even lying about their age. Displaying a profile that is not truly yours will end up in distrust and disappointment for you and the one that might be interested in who you are saying you are. I don't want to pull surprises, you want to know me because of what you see and read in my profile. So I am who I say I am and anything you learn going forward will support that and hopefully make you more interested. Honesty is key in any relationship, without honesty there is no trust. Keep it real

Wait....people actually lie here? OP people lie in every walk of life. The trick is to find the people that don't really care what you think. Then they won't spend the energy to lie. Not trying to be mean or anything...I think in all the years I have seen so many talk about all the bad profile and no one has put up a thread about the great profiles and there are many out there... Men and womens. One of the reasons I like the forums so much is you get to see inside of the persons mind and how they work... Good luck OP...I hope... find what you are looking for I really do... |

I wasn't actually referring to anything I've seen on Match2, but I've been on others and lying on profiles was very common and made finding someone a big waste of time. I'm not at all surprised if they do it here but I'm hoping the ones that I put my time and effort in don't turn out like the ones I wasted my time with on other sites. I just don't have the time to waste. No offense intended to anyone

Why lie? you don't achieve anything. I don't want my friendships based on lies.

I reckon those folks want to date someone that likes the person they WANT to be, not the person they ARE, and hope that somehow they'll form some emotional attachment prior to meeting that will make the potential mate overlook their deception.
Beauty and the Beast was a fairy tale and Esmeralda and Quasimodo were fictitious characters. Me, I'm a frog bellied, snaggle toothed, squat feller (my mom says I'm handsome), that is only interested in meeting a woman that likes a man like me. However, to people that have a "type" I would like to point out that you either dumped or were dumped by your "type", for whatever reasons, one or more times which is why you are single today. |
