And then he told them, "Go into all the world and preach the Good News to everyone, everywhere. Anyone who believes and is baptized will be saved. But anyone who refuses to believe will be condemned. (NLT, Mark 16:15-16)

Maybe I am not understanding some posts but as I read this you believe AND be baptisted to be saved. Am I missing something

"You are save by Faith & Faith alone "

Bapistim is an act of obedience & devotion AFTER being saved. It is a CHOICE. Usually at age 13 & up. The understanding of what it means to be saved & why are paramount. It must be confessed/ said, out loud to at least ONE person.

I hope this helps.

Thank you Sassy. With all do respect I disagree. The scriptures I posted (Acts and Mark) tells me we are commanded to repent, accept Jesus as our savior AND be baptistized. Baptism is an act (work if you will) but it is included in these scriptures. Jesus was baptized himself. This is my belief and know others believe different flowerforyou

Could be the way I worded my post. What I type or say doesn't always translate what I am thinking laugh

Hello Bing77

The thief on the cross who got saved by JESUS CHRIST was not baptized and never even had an opportunity to get baptized. But we do know that he got to be with the LORD.

So, baptism does not save in itself. It is supposed to symbolize what must have already taken place in the Christian's life - dying with Christ and rising with HIM through HIS salvation.

However, the Bible says to get baptized after we get saved. Every born again Christian should obey the Bible injunction to get baptized...but if of course a person does not get the opportunity after repentance, it does not stop the person's soul from making heaven.
