mine - UFC Light heavy weight champ - JON JONES

you mean former light heavyweight champ jon jones. he was stripped of the title after his felony hit and run arrest. he said he may never fight again also as he is considering retirement. as far as UFC goes i have always been a huge Shogun Rua fan, he was amazing when he was in pride fighting championships. sadly he hasnt fared all that well after coming to the UFC, but when he was in pride he was widely considered to be the best pound for pound fighter in the world. the guy was a beast. he did win the UFC LHW championship but he lost it to jon jones. i was pretty bummed out about that as i was hoping shogun would have defended the title a few times atleast. but he was scheduled to fight rashad evans but rashad got hurt like 2 weeks before the fight and jones stepped in to take his place. i give shogun credit though, he has balls fighting someone like jon jones on 2 weeks notice. if i was shogun i would have fought him but i would have postponed it for a little while so he would be able to get in a full training camp training for jones. he trained for months to fight rashad and 2 weeks before the fight found out he was fighting jones instead. jones and rashad are completely different fighters, plus jones is so big for a LHW and has insane reach. i just hope shogun has enough in him to make another title run. broke my heart to see him lose the belt 1 fight after he got it, but o well thats the fight game for ya. i just hope he has enough in him to give it another good run.

Did Shogun revenge his loss to Forest Griffin? I agree Shogun Rua was really something in his early carreer. He was a bloody savage!

yea shogun fought griffin again and mopped the floor with him. knocked him out in like the first 3 minutes of the fight. i had such high hopes for shogun... now with jon jones out of the UFC maybe shogun can have another good go at it. also shoguns 2nd fight with dan henderson broke my heart. that fight should have been stopped in the first round when shogun was beating the crap out of him. shogun knocked him down and started to ground and pound the $h1t out of him, the ref almost stopped it more than once because hendo was barely defending himself. sadly later in the fight hendo caught shogun with a short right hook coming out of the clinch and shattered shoguns nose, shogun was dazed as hell but was still fighting but hendo looked at the ref and said "hes hurt" and then the ref stopped it... shogun was so close to avenging his loss to dan henderson at UFC 139 which IMO was the greatest fight ever in the history of UFC.

Maradona might have been a great footballer but he leaves a lot to be desired as a human being.Being English I will always remember him first and foremost as a cheat. Yes Argentina would have won any way but he is still a cheat in my eyes

that's a tough one. there are a lot of good athletes around. My favorite wrestler (retired) is my oldest son and my favorite soccer player is my other son.

I love Michael Jordan and the old Chicago Bulls. And also John Elway of the Denver Broncos. Everything either one of them did was admirable.

Wyomia Tyus an Olympic sprinter and Dorothy Hamill, skater were the women athletes I admired most as a child.

Yep I said that at the beginning of this thread but was contradicted by a certain individual! Its my opinion not based on pound for pound statistics and whatever else they use these days!!
