My ex actually enjoyed hurting others. Narcissists have zero empathy. Went through hell and took me very soon after I left him to get it.

His roommate is arrogant and doesn't care because he is superior.

I never understood how someone doesn't feel bad about hurting others but I realized that isn't for me to understand. That's on them not me.

I always enjoyed doing for others until them. I went through a time I didnt want to do anything for anyone. No good deed goes unpunished with them. But I decided not to let them keep me from being me and enjoy doing things for people

Like said above...I am not responsible for others actions and can't control theor behavior...I am only in control of me

In everyday life,in real person all you see is people getting mean to each other. I like to think that most of them don't intend to. But seriously words can hurt. I mean, think about it. About all those things we say or don't say everyday, that seem meaningless to us. For example, during an argument, why bother being hurtful? Why don't we just take a moment,a little breath to try and understand other people's lives, trauma, complexes and embrace it in the way we would want someone to do so for us,instead of automatically assume that they should think and feel the way we do,and if they don't,we ''attack'' them?
Idk....maybe its just me, but I try not to focus on the bad. I see plenty of good everyday.
I go into a store and see a complaining customer....then I see an employee at the cash register checking me out and I say "Thank you"....and she replies with a smile, "Youre welcome".....Ive already forgot abt the complainer. Maybe its about perception.

I wouldn't lose faith in humanity just yet. As far as I can see there are far more nice people in the world than bad.
I personally believe it starts with parents, children are not born with a dog eat dog attitude, they are taught it, much the same way as nice people are taught by their parents to be loving and caring.

Basic communication skills, manners, protocol, ethics have been lost, because they haven't been taught or encouraged... Like back in the day
We live in a disposable (global) society now. Everyone & everything can be replaced.
With this conscious & unconscious knowledge comes fear & solitude.
As we create our own individual box / bubble, to exist in.

People don't want the truth, they can't handle it
* No room in their box * think

in my experience... and a bit of reflection...

the reason some people could care less about what others may feel, is because the very same think they know better, and would want to prove their point, regardless...

otherwise, it's mostly unintentional...

and i believe, no one is exempt from either of the above statements...sad2

unless someone wants to prove me wrong...lol...tongue2

Hmmmm, seems terrorists don't care about feelings.. That may be putting us on edge a little
That seems insensitive of you. Why aren't you thinking about why they lop off heads or burn people in cages. I mean, even terrorists have feelings. /sarc off

Upon each occasion that I've pointed a finger at someone, I've realized (with utter discomfort & sheer dismay) that my remaining "4" fingers pointing back toward me..smokin

People are human. We all make mistakes and do things regrettable. I have lashed back when attacked but I feel bad for it. There are some that don't feel remorse and even thinks it makes them superior...arrogant people, bullies, sociopaths and narcissists (my ex was one)

Some feel to put others down lifts them up.

A decent person can do or say things that hurt, but they feel remorse. A mature person feels remorse, owns up and apologizes and makes amends when possible

Nice post for sure flowerforyou

If people here attack too much, then they end up in Mingle jail.
Sadly, until they end up there, some people don't realize just how rude, mean, uncivil and obnoxious they really are.

As for myself, I tend to take voluntary time-outs whenever I become aware that I have gone too far with my comments.

Troof.

Sadly, some simply aren't capable of apologising for their cruel words or actions toward others. Or even capable of realising their words and actions were hurtful to another person.

Emotions are blind and feelings are preceptive. without inner reflective space we live in memory of reaction.

Empathy is two actions, seeing the needs of others and then addressing the need. Watching is not enough.

Some people have imploded , will they rise up to a wider view of self and life, hard to know? The dark passenger of demanding memory is a human condition , the white passenger , of joy, reason and attention is a human aliveness. Not in exile to self and the world....knox

You know, it's people like you and thoughts like this that give hope to humanity. Humans can be good people. We just choose not to be and it's disheartening. But I'm glad people still know how to be decent.

I come on, say hello to a few people and then it's like....eh?

I tend to punish myself when someone points out a faux pas on my part.
I don't deliberately try to be mean.

As I see it, deliberate meanness comes from a haughty spirit.
Proverbs 16:18 (NIV) says, "Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall."

All too often, whenever I encounter someone here who has a haughty spirit, eventually that person leaves or is put in Mingle jail.
