Hmmm...and here I thought all along that chivalry WAS dead or that at the very least, it had conditions attached to it. Interesting.

good point klc, a sad thing would be if they are simply not used to that, and do not know how to react.

true chivalry should have no conditions think of it as a gift from an anonomus person. As far as I'm concerned I'll open a door for her whether I like her or no just because she is a gal. Dosen't mean I'm looking for anything from doing it. it's just the way things are supposed to work Guys are SUPPOSED to open dors for the Ladies.

I think women in general thought chivalry was dead because men of the 60s, 70s, and 80s did not know what it was or how to show it. It is an unfortunate fact that fathers stopped teaching their sons about it and certainly did not show it. So a generation of women lost out on it. I do appreciate chivalry even like it. Although I have not seen it in a while. I must say I am always thankful for a door being opened, or my chair being pulled out for me. It makes me feel cared about both as a woman and a human.

For the men who are chivalrous, keep it up. There are a lot more women who appreciate it than you may think.
