Ok... I was hoping I would not have to deal with this for a number of years..lol.. but apparently the time has come..of a father of a growing preteen " boy".. to do what all men must do.... it is time to slide...ok.. leave the newest latest copy of Playboy magazine.... and bottle of lube... and box of Kleenex..on his nightstand.... and leave the Room closing the door behind myself.....
.... this is a wise decision is it not..?..
. apart from the accompanying..Talk..
... the standard have respect for women and yourself talk....
... yes I know.... Bit of a contradiction with the Playboy magazine and all..

I am a little apprehensive about doing this.... helping him out so to speak..lol.. but I think when I was his age I would have been happy if somebody would have gave me..
. . a few helpful tools so to speak..lol

..... I don't think it is sending the wrong message..?.. I think it is one more.. Of.... getting to know one's own self.....hmm... sitting on the fence about this it seems like a good idea at the time.... the guys at work...
. said it couldn't really hurt..lol..

. and then write on the lid with a .big Sharpe in big letters...
WE SHALL NEVER SPEAK OF THIS BETWEEN US.. ENJOY....ps.. clean up your room and keep the noise down...lol

give him his 'survival kit' but you must talk - and talk some more-

explain that the ladies in those magazines are very young and only pose that way for the money.

That the mag and others like it - portray a fantasy land - tell him that women in the real world will want things from him in return for even a peek at the goods. Things like diamond rings and condos and big fancy cars..

oh wait -- that means we are like those in the magazines

He's learning it in school even if it isn't on the curriculum. It's better for him to learn from you than to figure it out when some young girl is carrying your grandchild. They learn everything faster than we did.

Perhaps, it would be prudent to have teenagers pick up their dirty laundry that is strewn about before it becomes a bad habit as an adult....

I'll never forget working in a veneer factory/paper pulp...this gal supervisor just got done turning up the speed on the line on me to catch wood on the back end and stack. Okay...she turned and walked away down the line. On the back of her flannel jacket, was a *** stain. I laughed my butt off, then politely asked her if she knew she had a *** stain on the back of her jacket at break time. She looked as if she didn't have a reply. In fact she did not have one.

Tell your son that marijuana and alcohol often result in sex. He should tell his girlfriend to go on the pill, bring condoms or in the worst case have her take the morning after pill. And tell him that is to prevent pregnancy. But to prevent stds condoms are the best along with a monogamous relationship. Is that too much?

lol Estelle this isn't about a girlfriend. no condoms needed XD

I'd say that is one of the things you need not do. They are smarter than you think and have already researched a hundred different ways to do it. Don't embarrass the poor kid unless you want that awkward moment.

What if his son comes up to him and says 'hey dad I think I got a 14 year old pregnant'...maybe this could be avoided if they hear it from the parents not only somewhere else. It all depends on whats going on with your kid, but like you say they are advanced, advanced but they still could use mom and dad's wisdom.
