If you could pay it forward, what would you do and why?
"Paying it forward is a third-party beneficiary concept that involves doing something good for someone in response to a good deed done on your behalf or a gift you received. When you pay it forward, however, you don't repay the person who did something nice for you. Instead, you do something nice for someone else. For example, if someone changes your tire while you are stranded on the highway, you might shovel your elderly neighbor's walkway after a snow has fallen." Since I have been cleaning houses lately, customers have mentioned about getting rid of old stuff (clothes, knick knacks, a wife lol). I decided to donate these items to shelters and have garage sales and give the money to shelters. I have been blessed with family and friends when I was in need and needed a safe place |

paying it forward happens as the opportunity arises.
purchasing a meal for the homeless person by the restaurant you stopped at. raking leaves for your neighbor with the broken arm. taking an elderly neighbor to theddoctor because they are too sick to drive. random acts of kindness. |

I give groceries out weekly to people that are in need. Any clothing donations I go to the Pantry lines where they wait up to 5 hours in the weather and give to people directly instead of donating where most have to pay something for second hand items. Some of the thrift stores are taking advantage of the economy these days.

Yes, I most definately have done several of these things and more. however, as one of you said "I go out of my way...", I haven't truly done that, except for my own family. I don't think that is necessarily bad either. I DO believe in "it takes a village" and not just to raise a child. For US ALL to live together.

Not exactly paying it forward, but I love paying for a veteran's meal at a local diner or whatever. Usually they wear a cap that can give em away. Im especially excited if they're WWII vets....mainly because my dad was one....and we're slowly losing the few that are left everyday.
If you get the chance, have a chat with one.....you can hear some amazing stories. |

I would sometimes stay with him when family couldn't care for him. when he passed away they didn't know he was a 3 time purple heart veteran. they didn't know his story or the family history. |

I prefer keeping anonymity in "paying it forward". During the holiday season, I can't pass by a salvation army "kettle" without stuffing cash in it.
As well, all charitable donations I make, are in the form of cash. And, I have been known to ship boxes of non perishables to persons less fortunate than myself. |
