I have a huge interest in astronomy. I couple that with my interest in photography to capture celestial events. As you see on my profile, I have captured the solar eclipse from October 23, 2014. Would anyone else care to share their experiences? I love astronomy, as well!! I was absolutely fascinated by the blood red moon the other day and there is supposed to be one tonight, as well. Speaking of which I am gonna go look now. Well I just looked and it is regular, no red |

I spent three years in Australia, working in Astrophysics. If you want a bunch of interesting information about the sun, go to the NOAA site or look up Learmonth Solar Observatory on the web. We didn't much worry about solar eclipses but we had a lot of neat pictures of solar flares and things of that nature.

Supposed to be mostly clear where I am. I think (after working out when I am) it should be about 8pm so I might get lucky with the moon at least

Lunar eclipse begins in about 30 minutes.
Total eclipse begins at 1158 utc. Lasts only about 5 minutes. I will be photographing. |
