yup, I thought they all did. Proprietary software built into most hardware now a days.

You are going to make me look up what PUPs is? I'm not going to. Firmware malware is quite common, and branding also has built in back doors for many well known electronics. Yes, AVG caught it immediately. I now use it with a wall wart. I'm changing over to an 18650 mod. Just waiting on the mail.
