Would there be fewer wars if there was no such thing as religion?
I don't ask if there would be no more wars, I am asking if there would
be fewer wars.

Honestly I don't think thee would be fewer wars if there were no
religion. Its just mankinds propensity for war and violence....ya know
kinda like ingrained to mankinds being..hell I could be wrong but until
that day comes where there is no religion we won't know will we.

I really don't think there would be that many fewer wars, mankind will
ALWAYS have an excuse to start shit with someone else. Religion is just
a convenient cover to make the war seem righteous. If you look at the
root cause of all the religious wars, you'll see that religion really
isn't the underlying reason for most of them, it's usually greed or
fear, which can be said for pretty much any war.

So would that say that because of religion, there are fewer wars? Or
would you saggest that wars would neither increase or decrease?

But hasn't it been said that more people have been killed in the name of
God then for any other reason.

Here's an interesting site if you care?

If ppl wernt being killed in the name of "God" then they would kill in
the name of somthing else, i think it's in our nature to kill!

i don't think there would be any more or any less. i agree with the
statement that alot of humans a re combatant by nature and they will
find a reason to start some shit. it's just that religion is a hot point
and it somehow makes the war seem necessary or logical to them some how,
it is also a stron motivator or rallying point.

The Israelites killed in the old testament because they were in the land
of Canine. Sounds to me to be an excuse to just push other people out of
there territory and masking it by saying it was God's will or they think
that God gave them the right to do so. Kind of like what we did to the
Native Americans. Even God gave us that right in order to convert them.
Not to mention the countless killings of people who were thought to be
unholy or subversives to the church.
