A well known spiritual teacher came to the front door of the King's palace. None of the guards tried to stop him as he entered and made his way to where the King was sitting on his throne.

"What can I do for you?" asked the King, recognizing the visitor.

"I would like a place to sleep in this inn," replied the teacher.

"But this is not an inn," said the King, "It is my palace."

"And before you, whose palace was it?"

"It was my father's. He is dead."

"And who was here before him?"

"My grandfather. He too is dead."

"And before him?"

"My great-grandfather, who of course is no longer with us."

"And this place where people live for a short time and then move on, did I hear you say that it is not an inn?"

Good morning my Sister!

How are you this beautiful morning? Well I hope?

My cat is lying in the sun on the window sill, occaisionally batting me in the head with her paws- I think she is telling me I should get out of bed and go to the beach soon...

I'm sitting here playing a game with my hubby relaxing, enjoying some time off work. Not much sunshine here yet, and it's foggy so it'll be dim all morning.

Going to see my dad this morning... do a little housework and maybe play with my drum a bit since my hand is all healed up. Good times!

I hope you enjoy your time at the beach! Dose kitty go too?

She would love to come to the beach but she cannot be trusted to leave the birds alone... ohwell and it is *their* home...

My little dog would like to come, and she will leave the birds alone if reminded to do so, but I have tarried here too long now and by the time I actually get out of this bed and make my way there I'm afraid it will be to hot for her... maybe tomorrow....

I should do some cleaning of my own house but surely that can wait  ... until lunch time at least...

I will look forward to the drumming...

a wonderful day full of joy to you .... and any others who come here. flowerforyou

I hope you both enjoy your day.

This post made me reflect that our Earth is similar to an "Inn" we also should respect our surroundings during our stay and leave it nice and clean before we leave.

Very nice. Rather like the way a child preceives things, somewhat literally. Children are teachers too and even philosophers rarely argue with with thier gentle logic.

Britty, Poet, Redy-

I hope you had beautiful days.... mine was both useful and delightful... although I was very distracted by shiny things... maybe that's why I like the simple stories so much!?! They can hold my attention long enough to penetrate my easily distracted mind...

I try to triangularize my brain when it gets too square... too boxed in... but I have more luck making it round... I think dust in the wind is a fine meld!

I hadn't thought of it before but many posts would be enhanced by a sound track.. hmmm.... perhaps I'll start adding them to mine...

bigsmile

Isn't our heart just an "inn" , too.
We invite people in, others come in and ask for a room,
some stay forever, some only for a night.
All of them have something in common, they make us richer for knowing them.
