Topic: FEMALES OR MALES.... | |

I don't just look at people's pictures. I understand that there are people from all over the world who can be very interesting to talk to, but when you write me a very basic message and when I go on your profile I see nothing interesting, and your profile states that you're 85 when you're clearly not-- I probably won't reply to you.
I can understand why some people who are on this site for dating (not everyone's here for dating) won't bother reading someone's profile if they are not attracted to them. Is it the best way to go about things? No... but some people know exactly what they are looking for and there isn nothing wrong with That. |

Self-promotion is difficult for normal, modest people.
I have been struggling with my profile text for a while. I want people to hear how I really think, so the person who has spent a lifetime seeking me can recognize me as the one they have been looking for. |

You have many good ones in there too! Ok, now I will go back and read your text... |

Your text is well-organized Tatilove! I have tried adding visual breaks to the separate ideas in my profile text, but I liked your titles for separating the ideas. You have a very good profile.

Thank you :) I don't think of a detailed profile as self-promotion but more of a way to give an idea of what kind of person you are to the people who might be interested. It also helps open a conversation. Many people who write me usually start by making a comment on my dancing or that they also prefer a night in reading a book to the club scene. Good luck on your search |

My profile is 90% photos and 10% words, wish they would let us caption the photos, a word or two with a photo tells a truer story than all the lies with words only!!! My dad once told me to believe nothing I heard and only half of what I saw... ...guess he knew the internet was coming.

Read the profiles? Sometimes they don't ever read the replies to the messages you were sent. I cannot understand how someone asks me a question that I had already answered in a previous message. |

I Don't Understand Why People Don't Take Time To Read A Person's Profile. They Just Look At The Pictures. I do both. It is necessary for creating understanding. I put a lot of effort into my profile and photos as well. And for safety. I just received a connection from someone using Meagan Good's photo. Google photo search is a very useful tool. Read the profiles? Sometimes they don't ever read the replies to the messages you were sent. I cannot understand how someone asks me a question that I had already answered in a previous message. I find the mail reader is quite difficult to use. Subtle answers are easily lost. Scrolling is poor. Ultimately we are substituting written words for the spoken and good communication with someone you wish to relate intimately with is challenging this way. I will always prefer a facial conversation. bye now... |

I sometimes go with just the pics, but I've found more often than not that more attraction to the person is revealed when I don't just go with the first picture, read the profile, and check out the other pics as well.
I also noticed that some don't use recent pics as their main pic, but one that's several years old. Upon checking someone out further, I often have a different outlook on them for better or worse. |
