Here in this place I am alone
Yet here, I still feel exposed.
Formerly I was like a stone
I feel naked, yet I'm clothed.

Growing up I possessed a mask
Content to keep it, to make it last.
It was smashed just like a flask
Now it's gone, trapped in the past.

Life I learned is like a flower
Only then, could I blossom.
Superb and filled with power
Never would I play possum.

I am much like a solitary tree
Standing here, I am exposed.
The people who look will see -
I am naked, yet fully clothed.

I can relate to the vibe that I get from this nicely composed piece.
