its pretty hard to do at times unsure everytime you see the scars its right back in your face

Shutter...I wear my physical scars with pride...


Talismans of the resilience I have developed...

Pride in the uncorruptible truth of who I am....

Everyday I see them, and remember that small child, and stand proud as the woman I am today.

I bet it is shutter...I feel so bad for what you had to endure through out your life.
I truly hope you find what you are looking for

how do you do that jess you make it sound so easy

Grieve for the child's lost innocence...allow him to mourn.

Then accept the adult man that you are....truly accept you, as you would your dearest lover, your beautiful children...truly accept YOU as you are today.

Shine the light that none could extinguish....you shine in your photography, you recognise beauty, recognise it in you...that none could take from you.

You are resilient...you are alive...that in itself is the very defiance of your past.

Damage done, needs addressing, and a qualified counsellor with compassion, specialising in child abuse, can support you through the healing.

You want it...with all of you...to accept the past, and move forward...I hear it in your posts...it is ok to extend your hand and ask for help....seek a counsellor out.

i think the "norm" is to come from dysfunctional families. my dad was abussive to all of us.
i think we can either make excuses, feel sorry for ourselves, or/and hurt others in return
or we can decide to dust ourselves off, learn from it, and help others.

thanks to all like weights lifted evey time i talk about it
and find how many people have been through it

I feel the scars,they touch my soul
the years of abuse had taken their toll
through drugs i tried to hide the pain
now here comes those feelings again

another drink or maybe a toke or two
i looked around but where were you
i sit and drink til i can not see
can not believe what youve done to me

my life passes by in a cloud of smoke
just one more drink,maybe another toke
my friend has gone,by the way of a gun
but i realize i should have been the one

i gave everything,for myself nothin taken
why couldnt you see my heart was breakin
its been seventeen years since you passed away
i dont know why i got up today.......
