I had recently re-watched Young Frankenstein, before I signed up for the first online dating site of my life. In that movie, there's a repeated joke that people pronounce their names oddly to try to escape being associated with their family's negative history, without being entirely dishonest, or completely changing their name altogether.

I felt weird coming up with a fake name to use to try to meet someone with whom to develop a real and deeply personal relationship. So I settled on pairing up the Igor character with the Frankenstein character. I couldn't figure out how to spell the names to make it clear that they should be pronounced "eye-gore fron-ken-steen" without writing it out like that (which looks to clownish to me) so I settled on what I have.
