In Toronto it is currently set as any child up tot the age of 2 can ride the subway for free, the new mayor is proposing to raise the age that free fare for kids to 12. What has me concerned as a person that pays cash fare is how will that effect the fares for the rest of the people?
I think it's good but show me the pros and cons of it before saying it is the best solution |

Wow - how lucky to get anything for free. If they want to increase the age to 5yrs that seems enough but I wonder if to 12 yrs is a bit too much. Kids these days seem to expect a free ride everywhere - if you know what I mean. Going to school should be a lower fair of course. ![]() |

To me that doesn't sound too bad...for a big city...and young people should have accessible ways to get around..could save some parents a little money...my home town just made our bus line free for everyone at least for the next three years...several local businesses all pitched in and covered the cost...sure there was a tax break for them...but it's still pretty darn cool..
