I'm never really alone....as my children stays with me! But I treasure the times when I am able to do things on my own...like when they are at school or at work! And I prefer to do my shopping alone too....no waiting, just grab the things I need, window shop and taking some 'me' time!

Of course there are times when I wished for some company, like when travelling..... or going on a holiday!

I tell myself that even though its lonely sometimes it is better than some of the relationships I see. Lying, cheating, indifference. I would rather be alone then to be in one of those. I keep busy at work, 2 jobs, and focusing on the small things I enjoy in life. Hiking with my dog, fishing, cooking on the grill, listening to my radio shows. No worries when I find the right one I will be ready.

I've found out you can be around hundreds of other people and (still be alone)! Some just don't get it !!!

op I grew up with one parent and a older bro ... so in a sense once I was a little older I had to get use to doing things alone... this is really the first time in my life that I am alone ... and I try and do what I am suppose to now ... and when I lived with my child I took care of her and worked after the divorce ... I missed a lot of things that lead me to a mental break down and many old and new injury's that left me unstable ... so doing a little better most of the time ... and get some help when I can ... but I have never been afraid to go anywhere by myself ... becouse of my child hood gave me no other thought about it through out my whole life even when I was in relationships ... and I know I could not stand being or living with someone all the time to much pressure ...if i could not get out for the day or them get out for the day ... but it would not mean I did not love them if that was the case ...

I agree with this. I found relationships to be way too stressful and I will be honest; I really never had fun when I was involved with someone. I think someone said is well on another thread that "the other person tended to suck the life out of you" and this is what I found to be true.
