Ohhh.. I would not worry about the batteries in the remote control..
.. the boys would have already probably .. taken them out.. and put them in there..Xbox controllers...lol.
..ohhh.. and don't even get me started on batterys.... well ok ..I don't have to tell you ladies about batteries.. and the importance of keeping fresh ones on hand....laugh flowers  surprised rofl

For what would a lady ever need lots of batteries?

off the top of my. head..
I can think of two or three things that lady ,may need batteries for..
Hmm... but if I was to mention them on here.. I think Santa Claus will be giving me a hunk of coal in my stocking..lol.... although I am pretty sure, he knows I'm a naughty boy by now

Do you mean to tell me that Santa would give you coal just because you mentioned the TV remote or a tooth brush? You got a silly Santa. slaphead

back to the support charity if the kids are old enough to understand I always told my kids that there were a lot of children who wouldn't get anything. Since they would be getting presents they should choose some gently used toys that we could refurbish and pass around. Also the womans shelters, food banks, and salvation army all needed help, the kids would get their friends to help them and we would put kits together for all of the organizations. It always gave everyone a warm fuzzy feeling being able to help. The kids learned at a very early age how much better it felt to give than to receive. We still continue to do this:smile:

Oook.... you do realize they are only 10 and 14 years old right..lol... that would be like trying to pry the last donut.. out of a chubby kids fingers..lol... no offense to you chubby kids!. I just know how much you like your donuts!!..

. but giving back is a good idea...
my siblings and I.. no longer exchange gifts... we put $50 in each. and let my mother... donate it to one of her charities.....
.. I was thinking.. giving people a Movie Pass.... like one of those cineplexes..... prepaid movie tickets..
. 2 general admissions.. including popcorn.... I tend to get my nieces nephews... a lot of those prepaid..
.. store cards like for Walmart..
are bootlegger.... something along those lines.... I think the problem is there are so many options.. these days... when I was growing up... there . where not nearly as many outlet stores as there are today...

.... I enjoy Christmas shopping..!..
... the malls all decorated up for Christmas nicely... the rent a Santa at every mall.... it just having a problem with... balance... not going overboard..
.... but I tend to go a little crazy on the shopping every year...lol.. I set a limit... try to stay within it... but then when it's time to wrap up all the presents.... I'm like holy crackers... I did it again ! way too much stuff...lol...
.... but this year the issue is...A.. everything they want cost way too much..B.. they pretty much have everything they need...lol..C... my overwhelming guilt... I being a single parent right now..yes..hmm.... that's it I'm cancelling Christmas.....lol.
..

lmao ok a few small gifts stocking stuffer then cash or gift cards to where you know they like to shop wrapped in boxes like presents ... if the mall gift cards that works in all the stores ...go to each of them ...what do you think your brother wants for Christmas... oh yea can't wait to hear the answer to that one lol but never know might get some positive out of it ... do they go to the movies gift cards ... what do they watch on tv something from those shows maybe as stocking stuffer sports things ...good luck ... Happy Holidays ...

..ohh.. just love this time of year..lol..
.. but it is always a struggle.. to find that perfect gift... have you started looking yet..?... do you know of any Hot Buys that are out there..
.. the must have new toys and gadgets.....

... I'm going to struggle this year..
. my boys are at the age where simple toys no longer do..... it's all about the electronics.... what do you think an appropriate amount .is to spend... on each family member...

How about a gift card to a local electronic place or cash and they can get what they want. As for a limit; set what you can afford.

I would also just have them make a list and say your not sure if it all can be filled but if your good and u can afford there ya go ... I always use to just ask... I really hated spending $ on something she did not want ... even now ... gift cards or $ they can spend how they like ... but over the yrs I got pretty good at knowing what she liked at certain ages ...

My family keeps getting bigger. Two of my gkids are married now, one is engaged and I am getting a GREAT granddaughter(my first) for Christmas. Well, she's due to arrive on the 22nd but who knows for sure..LOL
Last year was the first year in a while that I purchased gifts as I had surgery and was not able to get out and shop for 4 years before that, all in Nov. or Dec.
This year I have shopped, got some really good buys but some in the family are getting money again as I can't find anything that they don't already have. The gson and his wife are getting a gift card for a weekend at a Bed and Breakfast as I thought they could use a night away from the baby later on..just the two of them, a nice dinner and romantic evening...
Between birthdays and Christmas it about breaks me up..LOL
I still enjoy making lots of cookies and candy and everyone likes that as they all get a box of goodies to take home.
