The more to a carreer than $$$ signs. The most important thing about a carreer is the personal satisfaction the job gives you in your life.

Personally there are only 4 out of the ten that I would like doing.

I disagree Gardenforge. Some might do just that but I think it's the worst way to measure a persons worth.

That's an awful lot of money, especially since so many only make minimum wage of abot 6 or 7 dollars an hour.
I work per job. Sometimes it is VERY good, and sometimes it totally sucks...except that I am greatful to make anything at all.

I agree kidatheart, a person is worth the amount of good character a person has within themselves.

DANG - I'm livin in the dark ages. Hells bells, I've been looking of work for a 1 1/2 years, even decided I'd take $14.00 and hour for an office job, just to pay my bills while I go to school. It's absolutely unfriggen believable what these people expect for $14 and hour.

Of course after some of the jobs I've done in the last couple years, it's still easier than the $8 to $10 an hour for hard @$$ labor.

I don't want really want to be in social work, BUT, Bushy just signed that forgiveness bill. The one that lets go back to college on loans and after 10 years of regular payments, anything that's left is 'forgiven' and the gov. eats it for ya.

Sheit - If I'm still paying for my college education after 10 years - I don't think it getting the education worked??????
noway noway grumble

Hmm, I don't know about nationally/internationally but in Tulsa, there's a welder drought. Walk on's welcome, paid training, $17 to $25 starting pay.

I break my body every day for 10.83 US an hour, in a small-ish area where you only make good money if you married in to it or have 6-10 years of school behind you. I wouldn't be able to afford to own a home if my husband did not work also. We work in a metal stamping factory, working with moderately hazardous chemicals and 60-400 TON presses-he has been there four years and is a supervisor(he only makes 12.80 an hour- two dollars more than me and I'm as peon as you get).

Even happier, all the things I am good at and enjoy doing are not professions you make money in.

Jeez, I must be a bottom feeder in the food chain because I only get 9 bucks a hour. Jeez, it sucks to be me.laugh But last night I learned that so many have up and quit where I work that the big boss has come up with the notion from many who still work here that if he doesn't start forking up some extra cash that he will be a one man team doing it all cause all the rats have already jumped ship and he is the captain of the ship. laugh The captain is supposed to go down with the ship.laugh flowerforyou

once again people have read something into a simple statement. I said nothing about ones character or "personal worth" My point is make all you can legally and ethically and quit when you have enough. If you want big bucks, you have to be willing to work for them and that may entail doing something that is not your dream job. If it was all that much fun they wouldn't call it work and pay you to do it.

Earnings is not necessarily a measure of a person's character, but good character helps a person get and keep higher paying jobs.

So while it is not a measure of success, it still may give some indication of character in many cases.
