I might do ok. it would be the barest of survival. we used to raise hens and turkeys. I know a little about that. ive done gardening and could grow own veggies.
once upon a time my family wanted us to appreciate that we've been blessed so they taught us to live under less modern conditions in the way my parents were raised. this included sewing, washing by hand and cooking methods. just from curiosity following people around, I learned how to make our own beef jerky. it's been a while since I did this but it's something I could do again if necessary. |

I've seen those mugs with nipples and wondered if it has to do something with a cream? Perhaps it's not what it is about. Hmmm...??? Oh! Mmmm! Now I got it! LOL Santa doesn't read forums, does he? |

Talking about survival brought back some memories. A good friend of mine tried to save lives of very ungrateful people and ended up going through two amputations. They didn't even ask if he recovered. Perhaps that's why he ceased all contacts and disappeared? Makes me wonder if some people were worth saving...

I live in a small town and the nearest big city is 100 miles, our water supply is drying up so we have to stock up on drinking water, walmart trip is a days chore so you buy what you need for a month ahead, electricty can go off at any time so you always have plenty of candles and batteries. We hunt and fish practialy in our own backyard. Pecan trees are everywhere. There is also plenty of mesquite wood for fire and lots of plants that can be eaten or used for medicine. We even have horses we could ride just in case of gas being gone. When you live like this you just automaticly prepare for any thing!

I could survive without the modern conveniences but I certainly wouldn't like it. LOL Did lots of survival training with the military. I think living in a colder climate has made us Canadians a litte more resistance to adverse conditions. For instance; I just did Remembrance day or as you guys call in Veterans day at -16 and except for a light sweater under my uniform; I did not wear a winter coat. The City Police and Railway Police were shocked that I wasn't freezing but really I am used to the cold. Me; it would have to be -40 before I consider it cold. Don't get me wrong; I simply hate winter and cold but I as I have to go out in it regardless; I just make sure I dress for the weather. |
