Especially the democratic government is making the public fools like donkeys. All other form of governments are also doi v more or less the same regarding this. Wrong propaganda is the new method for getting public support, few example are western hands in asia, saying chinese ........ are bad, etc. All political leaders are more or less having a luxurious life at the expense of publiic money

What makes you think the public in general needs any help? And after all, the public picked them as being representative of themselves.

only foolhardy people take part in foolhardy things.

wise men watch while foolhardy people destroy one another, and so live in peace with them self and other wise ones.

<--- Fool (with a couple of questions)

You're too intelligent to vote? Why, then, are you here discussing "Politics"? Yanno, since you're too intelligent and therefore know better than to participate.

what

Don't know about original poster of the quote but as to the question, why do you vote, to be represented? That is a great excuse, all slaves need to be represented as they are not capable of representing themselves.

As to why here, because I feel like it and that is all it takes.

And as to the last statement:

Where liberty is, there is my country.
-Benjamin Franklin

Being ignorant is not so much a shame, as being unwilling to learn.
-Benjamin Franklin

In the United States, the majority undertakes to supply a multitude of ready-made opinions for the use of individuals, who are thus relieved from the necessity of forming opinions of their own.
-Alexis de Tocqueville

oh i love a women who speaks her mind!

truly.

in all sincerity...

and truly to ask whatever one will...

but at the same time...

i elect to be the one who decides with equal freedom what i wish or wish not to answer...

unless of course, we be in a court of law...

hehehe...

but even then, we have the fifth amendment...

well, that i am afraid shall soon be done away with...

but that's another topic...

for me, it be more i do not wish to be pitted on one side or the other, which is to be pitted "against some"...

because freedom is being for all, not some, just those whom agree with one self...

i respect wholeheartedly that which exercise their free choice to vote, and that which exercises their free choice not to vote...

if voting does become forced, as many would seem to like it to be, than voting has become a tool of none freedom, and not freedom...

such is bi polar to it's own essence and directive.

completely illogical.

if i don't answer which one i my self PERSONALLY DO, than i am on neither side, so being equally for both groups...

and, neither side is able to use me as a added weight to prove their ways as better...

besides, asking another directly if they vote, is like asking them if they have sex with the same sex...

it is always the wish of the other if they WISH to answer or not...

and what THEY WISH to speak on the matter...

it is a hotly contested political subject no doubt...

so those things require greater finesse.

so not allowing one self to become placed in either bracket, if one wishes to be for all the peoples, as i personally choose to be important for my self, and only but for me.

and besides, btw, i am a republican, and a democrat, and a libertarian, and a buddhist, and an islamist, and a christian, and an atheist, and so on and so forth...

and whom i cast my MOST ballot for, not even my own family do i let know this, as of course, why would i want to steal their own freedom of mind to be able to make up their own mind without my personal opinions in the matter...

to respect the free will of all, is to respect the free minds of all others.

I vote, because it's my right to, "whether [you] like it or not". It also provides me with a 'vested interest' and the right to ***** about how things are done.

Also, as a *wise* man once said [and I quote]:

...because I feel like it and that is all it takes.

*Funny* how that works, huh?

Of course it's your right to vote, the only one that seems confused would be you. Not sure what a "right" is? And you may vote of not vote, I could care less either way.

But it doesn't give you a vested interest as once your representative has been chosen, it is their interest, you really don't count until the next election if then. And while there is a right to "redress", and there is also the right to whine and cry but that is just as it seems and entails nothing other than whining and crying without ever accomplishing redress.

Reason obeys itself; and ignorance submits to whatever is dictated to it.
-Thomas Paine

Now there is a "wise" man for you.

Thank you for your implied permission for me to do as you do.

...because I feel like it and that is all it takes.

With Election Day just 5 short days away, it was important for me to receive your permission to participate in it, before casting my ballot.

It would be great if next year, you'd grant me your blessings before the deadline for mail-in voting; now, I'm forced to deal with the other misguided fools casting their ballots, face-to-face and in person.

The correct wording is "I couldn't care less"...

...the way you've worded it (as well as your continuing in a non-existent debate with me OVER it),

wise men also need advice, when they heed that advice if wise, advice is what makes them wise.

Wise men know they are not exempt from it.

Doesn't seem that fits.

And you say things your way, I'll stick with mine. And still the confusion runs rampant or does it? Would the illusion of confusion actually be none other than a choice to ignore, thereby remaining ignorant.

You would have to argue that point with Franklin but wise men never need advice as they normally seek counsel, a stark difference.

Thank you for continuing to "not care less".

And now as I not care less, back to the original topic.

It seems this to be a lesson in it really doesn't take the government to make one look like a fool, most are very good at that on their own.

Some would rather belabor the unimportant than understand the earmarks of slavery. The ones that believe civil rights and government endorsed privileges somehow connotate an individuals liberties. Those that have the misconception that the restrictions contained within the Bill of Rights are somehow negotiable.

But where the fools really stand out, is the irresponsible belief that voting out the red team and voting in the blue team will somehow result in change of a positive nature.

I agree to this Constitution with all its faults, if they are such: because I think a General Government necessary for us, and there is no Form of Government but what may be a Blessing to the People if well-administred; and I believe farther that this is likely to be well administred for a Course of Years and can only end in Despotism as other Forms have done before it, when the People shall become so corrupted as to need Despotic Government, being incapable of any other.
