What's the problem? In dating today women get offensive if the (MAN) shows up on a date with Flowers, opens the doors, helps with your seating, pays for the Date, and takes you home, walks you to your door, (optional) gives you a kiss. Then goes home not expecting nothing in return but maby"another date or being a Honorable Person"? Is this a thing of the past a woman is this scared of having a Real Man in her life? Or is a Control thing from the beginning? This has happened to me and i really want your outlook!! Soooo, back to the topic of the thread here. Obligations....depends on how "independent" the women is, and the type of man HE is. I feel that women have always cost money in some form or another for a relationship and or sex/love is the end game. This obligation we feel is the man laying out the money for dinner, or trinkets in lieu of basically trading for some part of us. Face it, women will cost you money. I also understand how dangerously manipulative this obligation feeling could be with a criminalistic minded man if he couldn't get what he thought was due him for the taking. |

I wasn't sure this would make it past 6 answers from the beginning. But it seems it took off for awhile as an explicit orgie of words? I'm glad it was brought back to topic ask and hope it continues with respect as was shown by me in the beginning! Some seem too demanding others falter and of course the dreamer? I hear the reports of daterape, the expectations of both men and women in dating of today. That does not classify all men or women in dating ! Just classifies you in your answers and thoughts in dating. Personally i don't expect anything in entertaining a Lady and hope they don't stereotype me to others past!! But of course it will happen 99 times out of 100 because of some of these remarks on this topic. I'm batting better than that average now counting the responses made now. So continue please, (My learning now)!

So kinda curious...with " online dating"... Say you find someone that lives in another state and over the course of getting to know eachother through chatting , phone calls, ect...if you agreed to perhaps meet and only had several days together...should I take my laptop or phone out on a couple nights out, hook up a video chat deal so when we do actually meet it's not exactly our first date,...lol... ...start with flowers..

it's my experience that being a gentleman will never go out of style...
and if a woman can't appreciate that i am one...well then, i wouldn't consider her to be a lady....my first online date was with a woman who told me her, and her dog, were a package deal.....so, i presented her with an inexpensive scented candle and a box of milk-bone treats for her dog... cost me about 4 dollars...the tears it brought to her eyes....priceless... |

Though it has been a while, one way to my heart is opening doors for me..

It seems to work both ways for me.From what i have noticed, only a lady will understand and appreciate a romantic gentleman.Unless i have got to know her extremely well beforehand,i wouldn't usually do flowers on a first date, but i would give her chocolates if i knew she enjoyed that particular pleasure. As far as opening doors for her etc,i was brought up that way.I wouldn't order food for her unless she asked me to,i think that's a bit presumptuous. But i like to think i am observant and attentive,so i watch for signs to see if she expects that.My last date didn't turn into a romance, but we became great friends, and she gets Swiss chocolate each time we meet, just like she did on the date. After all,she is still a lady

I've been wondering what a topic like this would bring on mingle, and some good was brought to the top revealing there are still respect-selfrespect in the answers given to me. One point for a gentleman that responded "i never order a meal for a lady nor let her order for me"! That's controlling!! Also i never pick a restraunt, but i won't eat sushi. Thank you all for protessipating in my Topic!! I wish more of my friends show up and join in---- so keep it going bringing out your best of yourself and in others!! I'm sure there is more than what's already answered on here? That's another reason on my introductions i am one of the "ENDANGERED SPECIES"
