Topic: iraq war time lines? | |
---|---|
there has been alot of talk lately of the importance of placing time
lines for the situation in iraq and i was just wondering how many people think that they are really necessary and why? |

i don't think that they are a snecessary as everyone is making them out
to be. although i don't like the way the effort has been cariied out and i completely disagree with being in iraq in the first place i don't think that creating a timeline is all that necessary. the war isn't at the stage yet where a timeline can be set up. once the insurgency has been lessened to a point where the restructuring of iraq can start, then we can assert timelines. war does not follow timelines and they never will. |

Completely aggree KB. All the timelines would do is get passed by. Now
is def not the time to just up and pull out. And with the timelines, I dont know that there should ever be a timeline set, regardless of what stage of war we are in. We just need to focus on doing our best over there and get our people home safe and soon. I dont think we should have even been there in the first place, but now that we are (have been for 4 years), all we can do is stick it out. However, I dont see this coming to an end before Bush's term is up. Even if it could be cleared up by then, he'd find a way to drag it out. |

yep,the US is in a tough spot in Iraq. They went into a country that had
nothing to do with 9/11. They captured it's leader and now, they can't pull out and let Iraq have it's own civil war cuz then the US will really look like assholes when yer sposed to be the good guys..Tough situation, they can't leave a situation they never should have been involved in, in the 1st place. Kinda ironic that the WMD's the US was lookin for were made with the technology, information and raw materials the US and Britain gave them during the Iran/Iraq war. |
