Topic: Obama not afraid of Ebola kiss all the nurses | |

Well now the Ebola scare should be over

The President isn't saying that containing Ebola is not an important problem. He is asking us to avoid falling into the emotional trap of hysteria and, instead, to focus on the medical, scientific, and logistical matters that will actually help.
The CDC can issue guidelines and communicate info, but each hospital has to do more than ask employees to read brochures. What happened in Texas is terrible; now let's focus on what is needed to prevent such events. Halting air travel, fearing all Africans, and other knee-jerk reactions will not help. |

I was little confused he is kissing the nurses and saying CDC will respond with SWAT teams within 24 hours of any new reports of Ebola cases from kissing to swat teams. I was okay with kissing nurses,

They have put travel bans on hospital employees already but not plane loads of people from Africa????

They have put travel bans on hospital employees already but not plane loads of people from Africa???? A travel ban on Africa would send people underground and have the opposite affect of trying to control Ebola. |

I would classify the general handling of Ebola by the US government from a response, PR, and emergency planning standpoint as generally incompetent. Appointing Biden's Chief of Staff, a political hack, as the Ebola Czar makes about as much sense as hiring a trial lawyer to control a flu epidemic.

However I do believe that although the buck stops with the Government, there are some people in Texas who need to be fired. A guy arrives at hospital with a fever after being in an Ebola ravaged Country and is sent home, whoever made that decision deserves the chair, well maybe not the chair but you get my drift. I'm just glad it never arrived in the UK first because it would have been all over the Country by now, we were kinda lucky in that we learned from Americas mistakes. |

Antibiotics are only effective against bacteria. Antiviral a generally treat symptoms or provide a limited immunity to non infected. For example hepatitis .. Once you are infected .. You have the hepatitis virus for life . Similarly with the flu vaccine.. Virus mutate . The vaccine needs to be updated every year to target the mutated strain. If Obama wants to kiss nurses.. Let me see him kiss a nurse infected with Ebola :-) |

I found a good article on it CDC patents life forms so it can't be commercially patent and fees charged for finding a cure but yes they have the patent on the Ebola virus. I wish those two nurses in Texas the very best once they get back on their feet those two will be thee best Ebola nurses in Usa they can't catch it again.
