I still think it is really interesting that respirators are used as part of the ppe equipment if Ebola is contact. Contact precautions in the hospital are a gown and gloves .. The face is generally not protected. That in itself says to me .. They can not discount there is a droplet component to Ebola transmission. ... If that is the case... They should widen their search grid . If it is spread by body fluids ... and vomit, blood, sweat, urine, and feces are contaminated ... why wouldn't spray droplets from a cough or sneeze contain deadly virus also? |

Either they don't know the disease well enough to pinpoint the exact stage of contagion, or they are making lots of assumptions and spreading them as "facts".
For example, before the disease becomes full blown, it may still be spreading like wildfire in his body. Perhaps, without fever, he could wipe his face with his hand and get tears, saliva, mucus, or sweat on his hand and leave enough virus on everything he touches to infect someone else for hours. I don't think they really know how exactly this virus works! Fever is a response to a contagion, not the beginning of it. |
