This. ^^^ In my entire life, I've only dated/related with one man who assured me, repeatedly, 50% of the time that he was, truly, A Nice Guy. The other 50% of the time he was doing things (like handing over his paycheck to his 'ex' wife with whom he still lived, getting arrested for his third DUI, going on meth binges and forgetting to show up to work, etc.) that required him to reassure me - and himself - that he was, truly, A Nice Guy. Luckily, it was a short-lived experience. In the 4 serious LTRs I've had, not one of them as felt the need to remind me - and themselves - that they are A Nice Guy; they simply lived it.

Haven't you heard! "Nice guys finish last." If they don't get tired of being kicked around and leave before then. That comment is BS. I met these nice guys and they are the ones doing the abuse. If it is not physical; they are doing mental abuse. They are very controling and manipulative. So, of course a woman is going to want to get away from that. These nice guys make jerkds look good by comparison.

I agree that nice guys don't announce they are nice but I stand by my statement that nice guys are manipulative and controling; as well as clingy. They are very insecure and this is why women put them in the friend zone; not because they are too nice. They may tell the guys that but that is not the real reason.
