But look, please tell me if you think I'm wrong. I'm not trying to squash the discussion here. We're open to making modifications of the moderation system. If things aren't working, we want to fix them.

What I can't allow to happen, though, is for only one side of the story to be presented, especially when that side is suspicious of events happening that we know for a fact are not. That's my main reason for posting so much on this subject, because only Vanchau and I can see the complete picture with the reports that we have, so we need to represent the other side on this issue.

make them type a six to twenty word reason rather than mark the box

I don't know how you 2 do it but I'm thankful that you do. I don't have an real complants about this site. Please keep up the good work. Oh and I use my cell phone a lot to be on this site so thank you for moddifying it for phones too!

I think the bigger issue is that we disagree on whether a topic getting votes for deletion is a problem if the topic gets saved. I think that mistakes are going to happen no matter what we do, so we need to design a system that can take that into account and still come up with the right result. I guess you're looking for something where everyone votes perfectly?

Adj4u - I really don't mean to pick on you. You're not the only one that feels this way, and one issue I definitely see with the moderation system is that it isn't very transparent, so people don't know exactly what's happening or why. So people guess that there are more topics that are being deleted than there are, or that there is abuse going on by groups of members when there isn't, etc.

I do appreciate your bringing this up, because I know you're not the only person that feels this way. And if this results in a bunch of new ideas on how to improve the system, then I would be ecstatic.

There's been a lot of changes since I've joined and so far so good. I can feel your frustrations but I would guess that the majority of participants on this site are pretty much satisfied with it's outcome.

Just one thing Mike. As no one knows who votes threads off^, and someone has several threads deleted through the community voting for whatever reason, does this mean that anyone who has had several different threads deleted for whatever reason will have their account deactivated?


This is a free site and people should be grateful of the joy that you and Van are bringing to us all.
