Topic: Curious question about prayer | |
---|---|
Why exactly is it most usual for a prayer to end in "In Jesus' name I pray Amen". Why is the name mentioned as a third party? Jesus is our God, Jesus is whom we are praying to. We aren't praying to the "father" eg., Jesus' father for Jesus is our creator our God thus we pray to him. So why exactly do we say "In Jesus' name I pray, amen" as a third party?

Very interesting question, bro.
Yeah, Jesus said that my Father is greater than I am, so in other words, God is the boss and Jesus is the under boss. So we pray to God in the name of Jesus. Moreover, it was because of what Jesus did for us all on Calvary, God would have it that we honor Him. God will not hear our prayer unless we honor Jesus - so I guess that's where "in Jesus' name we pray Amen" comes in. |

According to our book of study (THE HOLY BIBLE), says in the book of John chapter 14 verse number 6. Jesus told him, "I am the Way-yes, and the Truth and the Life. No one can get to the Father except by means of me. (THE LIVING BIBLE ILLUSTRATED). Acts 4:12. There is salvation in no one else! Under all heaven there is no other name for men to call upon to save them. I love you with the love of Our Lord Jesus Christ. You're blessed! |

Praying TO GOD has to be done the way HE instructed,so it goes way beyond "beliefs" or "sincerity".

Yes I thought of that, but the way it's said it's as if we're praying to someone else in Jesus' name and not specifically to Jesus. But as Jesus is our God, it is him whom we would be praying to. |

I believe the angels and the saints in heaven worship Jesus. When we pray to Jesus, or in Jesus' name. We also are praying to the Father (Almighty God). Matthew 10:30. I and my Father are One. |

Not Matthew 10:30, I mean John 10:30. I and my Father are one. (Jesus Christ and The Father, His Father, Our Father, Our God are one. Surely, The Father must be greater than the Son). Jesus said in the book of John chapter 10 verses number 29. My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand. 30. I and my Father are one. |
