My guess was that these people just have no life of their own. If we had lives, then we wouldn't be posting things on this website in the first place.

I can't speak for anyone else, but as for me, I have a wonderful, enjoyable life. I'm posting on this website because I'd love to find someone to share it with.

yes,yes and yes i have notices people don't fill in there profiles .... whats with that?? its so hard to email a guy with noting on his profile and even when you go to the trouble off saying hi there have the sheep to say there don't answer to "HI" TEXTS.........

They didn't sit down with a spreadsheet and charts formulating a 12 point 1 year 15 step strategy for online dating. They were browsing the internet, or another website and then it was all "Hmmm, mingle2. I haven't tried that one yet. I haven't been there. I wonder if it's any different than this one. Or my friend told me about it and I'm going to go check it out." Their intention isn't to sign on more than once. But sometimes they stay and forget what their profile says or just don't care. Simply because in many cases it just doesn't matter since about 75% of the first messages received are going to be "hi!" or "how are you" or "you're cute, wanna chat?" Not to mention a lot of people only come onto dating sites in order to chat because they're bored. So no real reason to fill out a profile if they can get someone to chat with them.

What about the profiles that say they are a male looking for a female yet their username is a female name and their photo is a woman I have seen probably 10 of these

I have noticed this too and have been meaning to express some thoughts about it over on "Mingled-up & stuff like that" . Not that it particularly bothers me because I accept that everyone will mingle in their own particular way. But I do go all quizzical when the profile pic shows a 'pretty female face' yes beauty does lie in the eye of the beholder). "Sadly" one of the consequences of this absence of detail is that it could lead to the impression that the individual (if real) is trading on their looks. Is that advantageous? And doesn't it risk reinforcing certain unfortunate stereotypes? Noticed a male profile today that took it step further by going so far as to create a forum topic asking for opinions on his 'picture-no-info' profile I will read other's opinions with interest

same here op ... just notice a lot with just Hi... and just ask nothing else lol ... Yes I agree, although some of the curry makers do add the word 'dear', so it reads 'Hi Dear'. Now at least some of them have the decency to write two words instead of one

When I was in school and if we were naughty we had this teacher who used to give us extra homework and we had to write at least 500 words and it had to be a story that you had made up. It sounds easy but its not and it takes hours. Anyway, I was chatting in class one day and i got the proverbial 500 words. When we were leaving school that day my friend told me just to write yes yes yes yes 500 times. She said she had done it and that the teacher had seen it and was quite happy with it. So that night I wrote the word 'yes' 500 times. I gave it to the teacher the next day and she looked at it and went crazy, She doubled my punishment to 1000 words. I looked at my friend and she was giggling at the back of the class. It still makes me smile even today.
