Topic: My 'out-of-body' experience | |

In a quiet room about 12 of us sat in a circle on a floor. There was one person- (the director) outside the circle, observing. We all sat holding the hand of the persons beside us, to create a chain. The director asked everyone to take a couple of deep breaths, relax and close our eyes. He then had us visualize or imagine a flow of water or arrows, moving from our right hand up through our arm, shoulders and down to our left arm and hand, to the person on our left. With a calm voice he asked us to try and maintain that visual. This created a collective, stronger 'visual energy' within the group. Within a few minutes, I felt myself leaving my body and 'floating' to the center of the circle. The closest I can describe that experience for me would be like the sensation of being moved in the ocean with a big warm wave and not struggling. But even that isn't very accurate. Within about 10 seconds, I 'woke up' or came too. I looked around and most of the others had already awoke, broken from the circle, and where waiting for the others (about 4 of us) to awaken. One person was laying on the floor asleep. No one said anything. When everyone was awake, the director looked at his watch and asked everyone about their experience. They were all similar to mine but the fascinating thing was, that each person's sense of time was different. Some said they where 'gone' for 2 minutes, others 15 or 20 minutes, or so. The director showed us his watch. Thirty minutes had passed in what for me, felt like 10 seconds. That's what really amazed me. Time truly is relative! |
