The ability to control an aircraft by thought alone is now possible. The same equipment can be used someday to power a invalid's mechanical body.

Science is moving faster than many realize.

Now if they could just find a way to help us find our mind when we've lost it

This still doesn't mean that our mind really matters. The mind is a very limited part of a greater reality. Many things happen that the mind alone cannot fathom, such happenings that require the breath of a living experience to truly understand.

That article you posted is biased and has no credible source material. There are no clear cases of telekenesis, spoon bending, astral projection, telepathy, or psychic phenomena of any kind, or it would have been published in research data/articles/non-fiction reference books instead of an online "news" site. There ARE cases of new prosthetic devices for legs and arms that are now robticized and attached to existing bone and nerve tissue inside the remaining part of the limb, and even when there is no shoulder left, to anchor it and run off the body's own nerve impulses. So in that, science has made huge strides, as well as advancements in occular implants that can give a completely blind person limited sight, much like sonar outlines for bats. But no telekenesis or telepathy. Mind over matter only works in Placebo Effect cases, and only a few not all or even a majority, as well as in internal temeprature control, increased strength output, and phsiological shifts of a similar nature.

actually, the Article is NOT about Telekinesis and other Humbug, but simply about controlling a Device with the Electrical Impulses from the Brain.

Using a noninvasive technique known as electroencephalography that harnesses brainwaves, five students were able to control the motion of a helicopter.

Facing in the opposite direction of the copter, students were able to move the vehicle in various directions by imagining themselves moving their left hand, right hand, and both hands. After some time and training, participants were soon able to get the helicopter to perform several maneuvers including passing through rings with an image of the flight being showed to them on a screen. Researchers are hoping to expand this new noninvasive brain wave technology to eventually restore motion, hearing, and sight in patients suffering from paralysis or neurodegeneration.

I read the lady's comment with surprise. I thought "How could anyone get real telekinesis out of that article?" I decided that she couldn't have read the article at all ... but then this detailed response. Go figger. The word "telekinesis" used to describe the article was not, in any real way, intended to refer to telekinesis, but to the ability to affect real world objects with thoughts alone.

There was actually a movie made some years ago "Firefox" where the pilot flew his fighter jet with similar technology.

The real world applications are almost endless... shades of "Forbidden Planet!" no less!laugh

And BTW Miss, the article is not biased and is fully credible from REAL source material that has actually been worked on for some time.

The terms used "Mind over matter" in my post and "telekinesis" in the referenced article are "tongue in cheek".

The Krell are attacking!! "Robbie, don't let them enter!"

Bit of trivia ... The 1956 Movie "Forbidden Planet" with the storyline about mind over matter was actually based on Shakespeare's "Tempest".
