At this point in time most of my posts across the boards have been silly, flirty, and hopefully witty and funny but a few weeks ago this happened. Some off you have already read and commented on this so sorry to bore you, but it had such a profound effect on me I think it is worthy of repeating. This post was my first honest observation and the raw emotion it made me feel is what convinced me to tell you all. Don't get me wrong I am very happy being single, but........ Something happened to me at work yesterday that shook me to my core. A girl fell down and I was right there, I offered my hand and assisted her up and onto her feet. But as she put her hand in mine I felt a warmth and intensity of emotions I'm struggling to describe shoot through me. It made me realise I have not held a women��s hand in over 5 or 6 years maybe more, and to feel that even though it was only a helping hand was so special. I can��t wait to hold someone��s hand for the very first time again, to feel the warmth and softness, to feel the texture of a loved one��s hand as we gently apply pressure and entwine our fingers together. It will be a very special moment.

Hi Mikey and everybody
I was going to post part of this in the what are you thinking, but decided this might be a better place. I had my first real piece of hate mail today because someone was offended at my new pic, which happens to be a representation of who I am. I wondered why do people think I'm cool when I tell them of my ancestry, but offended by a picture representation of the same? I can't and won't apologize for who I am or where I come from. To do so would be to deny those who lived me, a mother who chose to keep me and a man who consciously made a choice to be a father to two girls who came into his life during his golden years. In a short version of a long story, my biological father left my mother on her own to raise my sister. At the time mom didn't know she was already expecting me. Having no education and no options, she went home to my grandma and I was born in a very humble home. My Godparents offered my mom the opportunity for them to adopt one or both of us and let my mom make a new life without us. She chose to keep us both but did ask them to help her while she could find a way to earn a living. As the family wanted her to forget my dad, she was sent to live with one of my married aunts who said they could help her find work. In the meantime, she is a person if faith and prayed often for God to help her find a mate that would accept her little ones. Thus she met my step dad, the only father I ever knew. When they met he wanted permission to court her. She told him she was just trying to make a living and take care of her girls. His words echoed exactly the ones she had said in her prayers. That is how we came to be in this country. I will never deny who I am or where I came from because I will not deny those whom God put in my path to help bring me to what I am today. |

Hello everybody...I'm feeling like running water and waterfalls today.
This one is Victoria Falls in Africa......funny story, years ago a guy I worked with and his wife had saved for a trip of a lifetime to see these but when they got there they discovered the area was experiencing one of the worst droughts ever and the falls were nearly dry!!!
