Ive noticed a trend with profile pictures......most men seem to post pictures of themselves with others doing things or a picture that was taken of them by someone else.....women seem to have profiles filled with selfies.....Do you think women who's profile photos are all selfies are photoshopped.....or do they have no lives and no friends?
***im talking the 40+ YO crowd....thoughts??? |

I'm not 40, but I find I can take more time to make sure my photo is acceptable if I take it myself. When photos are taken with friends I pick it apart finding all the things I don't like. Guys do not care, nearly as much as women do, how their photo looks. Those that do have either selfie or studio photos (much like your own)

I think most women wear too many clothes in their photos, and some don't wear enough..

I just don't like asking someone to take a pic of me...feels weird unless I'm standing beside a celebrity or the worlds largest ball of twine.

@mikey  Narragansett Ale for you @realcare I know what you mean, I guess I was talking about photos taken when you're out with friends...nothing wrong with a few selfies, I just like some pictures of "out with friends" gives you an idea of what people like to do with their free time ***please note***never said there was anything wrong with the selfie...just that I had noticed a trend.......... |

I have a couple of pictures taken by others on my profile, but most are selfies. The reason is because, in my opinion, when you are in pics with others and don't specify which one you are (that's the only picture) it's confusing, or the person took the picture while everyone else looks great but I'm going to sneeze.....or..... I'm getting ready to go out and think I look pretty darn good so I want to prove that I CAN look good once in a while.

I tend to take three or four..
because the first couple always come out a little blurry.. then I edit a little bit... ok a lot..lol.. I have a spot in my house... you might have noticed.. where I take most my pics.. it has the best natural light.. and artificial light.. but I don't use pics that have people I know in them... I don't think they'd appreciate being online...lol |

I love a lot of the pictures taken with friends when we're out, most of them have twitter and Facebook and I don't mind being in their posted photos, I don't have either twitter or Facebook due to the nature of my job....none of them care that I use photos with them in them for a dating sites' forums.... Not everyone is here trying to date....some of us just like the forums

Not everyone is here trying to date....some of us just like the forums Even still, I know for myself, I like to see and be able to pick out the actual person I am chatting with on the forums.... This way I don't check out a profile and say "gee, the one in the red dress could have gotten a bigger size" and have it be the person I am speaking to... (just using that as an example, being lager myself, I try to refrain on saying things like that). |

[/quote When I see profiles where there's only one photo or lots that are selfies, I run for the hills. In my mind it conjures up a couple of pictures, neither good. Either the person has no life and is looking meet someone who'll give them one. Or someone that only has one good photo that their prepared to share and that they show them in their best possible light so be ready for disappointment as it may of been taken many years ago. Or there so self absorbed that they think spending their days taking photos of themselves is a constructive use of their time. I like to see a handful a shots in different location. That might lead me to believe they're not sat in front of the TV all night every night and actually hasn't got much clue as to have a good time |

I personally don't take selfies... I am not good at it. My pictures were taken by friends. I and I post them. I actually don't even give it a second thought
