I once felt lost and alone Dark shadows following me endlessly Taunting my every move I took those first steps of my journey Straightened my back and walked tall Pushing the fears deep inside of me Pulling all of the inner strength to the top I looked upon my unclear path It is a cluttered and difficult one to travel Traveling down it, knowing I cannot see the end of it I walked bravely down it anyway My strength comes from many places My courage is fueled by faith and love The faith I have in myself the love from friends and family Though I thought I was alone I find I was not once left alone My friends and family became my strength Though this path is mine to walk I walk it knowing I truly am not alone I walk down it ready for the adventures that wait for me I walk down it knowing it is what is meant for me ~Journey 2014

Researchers and activists heading to an AIDS conference in Australia were on the Malaysian jetliner shot down over Ukraine, news that sparked an outpouring of grief across the scientific community. Among the passengers were former president of the International AIDS Society Joep Lange, a well-known researcher from the Netherlands, and Worth Health Organization spokesman Glenn Thomas, based in Geneva. Lange had been working on HIV since the earliest years of the epidemic, participating in clinical trials and research across the world, Barre-Sinoussi said. He had dedicated his life, she said, to "the benefit of mankind." This is absolutely tragic for the scientific community in HIV/Aids research... A beautiful mind was lost yesterday
