My Father was in Vietnam.. He is Diagnosed with plenty of problems from that war, Including Type 2 Diabetes (Agent Orange Exposure), and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. I wrote this poem in Honor of all the Brave Soldiers out there.. May God Be With them..

“The Soldier”
It’s me dear God, “That Soldier”
That prayed to you last night
To guide me through the shot and shell
And to see the next dawns light.

I hope that you are listening
And save me from the sword
Give me the strength and courage
To be like you, my Lord

If you decide to have me be
Up there next to you,
I will know I did my best
In all you helped me do.

Well, my Lord as you well know
Its time for me to go,
Now I can face my fear
Because you are near
And that’s all I need to know
