RHAPSODY OF REALITIES DAILY DEVOTIONAL: GOOD WORKS ~ Wednesday, May 28th - Pastor Anita. How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him (Acts 10:38). Some people don’t appreciate miracle healings because they claim Satan also performs such miracles. Well, Satan can’t heal, because healing is a good work. There’s no place in the Bible where Satan healed people. On the contrary, as read in our opening verse, he’s the one that oppresses people and afflicts them with sickness and disease. In Bible days, the Jews accused Jesus of casting out devils by the power of Beelzebub. However, the Master’s response was, “Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand: And if Satan cast out Satan, he is divided against himself; how shall then his kingdom stand? And if I by Beelzebub cast out devils, by whom do your children cast them out? Therefore, they shall be your judges. But if I cast out devils by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God is come unto you” (Matthew 12:25-28). He then warned them to be careful about what they said about the works of the Holy Spirit, “Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men. And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come” (Matthew 12:31-32). It’s wrong, and dangerous, for anyone to attribute the works of the Holy Spirit to Satan. Don’t call the healing miracles of God fake. Even the skeptical Jews in Jesus’ day acknowledged the healings and miracles of Jesus as a good work (John 10:32-33). Healing miracles are good works that can only be carried out by the power of the Holy Spirit. It’s God’s desire for His children to enjoy perfect health and wholeness. He doesn’t make people sick to keep them humble as some people think; rather, He makes them well. CONFESSION I rejoice that it's God’s will and good pleasure to see me healthy, sound, strong and whole. I declare that the healing power of Christ is at work in me today; not only is my health perfected in Christ, I dispense healing virtue to the sick and hurting around me, in the Name of Jesus. FURTHER STUDY 3 John 1:2 Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth. Matthew 8:16 When the even was come, they brought unto him many that were possessed with devils: and he cast out the spirits with his word, and healed all that were sick: Matthew 9:35 And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people.
