…HE SETS YOU UPON YOUR FEET!"
Sunday, May 25th, 2014.
Pastor CHRIS
...And the spirit entered into me when
he spake unto me, and set me upon
my feet, that I heard him that spake
unto me (Ezekiel 2:1-2).
There’s a unique operation and
manifestation of the Spirit in our lives
as God’s children, which we need to be
more conscious of. The Prophet Ezekiel
experienced this kind of mighty
visitation of the Spirit, and described
his experience in our opening verse.
Also, read what he said in chapter one,
verse twenty-eight: “…This was the
appearance of the likeness of the glory
of the LORD. And when I saw it, I fell
upon my face, and I heard a voice of
one that spake.”
Ezekiel saw the glory of the Lord and
he fell flat on his face, completely
overwhelmed by His awesome
presence. Now what happened next is
what we read in our opening verse:
The Lord said, “Get upon your feet, I
want to talk to you,” and Ezekiel
recounted that when He said that, the
Spirit entered him and set him on his
feet.
This is a special operation of the Spirit
of the Lord. He came to Ezekiel,
entered him and set him upon his feet.
He does that for us from time to time.
Though He lives in you, He's also with
you, and can set you upon your feet to
do the works of God.
Have you ever been in a state where
you thought you were just too weak
and tired to pray? Still you attempted
to mumble a few words of prayer:
“Father, I thank you for this day. Thank
you for your grace in my life…” and
then you spoke in tongues a little.
Then suddenly, you heard the Spirit
say, “Get up, and pray!” It sounded
rather authoritative, but you thought
to yourself, “God understands that I'm
really tired,” and continued mumbling
weakly in tongues.
However, the next thing you knew, you
sprang to your feet, and began pacing
the floor, speaking so hard and fast in
other tongues, and you didn't have a
clue how it happened. That was the
Spirit of the Lord, “setting you upon
your feet!” Halleluiah.
The reason some don't find this
operational in their lives as they should
is that they don't recognize it as an
operation of the Spirit, and feel they’re
the ones just being inspired by
themselves to pray like that. It’s the
operation of the Spirit; acknowledge
that aspect of His ministry in you when
it happens, and be grateful to Him for
setting you upon your feet, and made
you alert so you could hear the words
of the Lord.
PRAYER:
Dear Father, I thank you for the
wonderful gift of the Holy Spirit that
you've given me. Through your Word,
I’ve become more sensitive to His
voice, yielding to His promptings
within; therefore, His works, plans and
purposes are accomplished through
me, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
FURTHER STUDY:
Ezekiel 3:12(CEV) The Spirit lifted me
up, and as the glory of the [Lord]
started to leave, I heard a loud,
thundering noise behind me.
Acts 8:39-40 (CEV)After they had come
out of the water, the Lord's Spirit took
Philip away. The official never saw him
again, but he was very happy as he
went on his way.
40 Philip later appeared in Azotus. He
went from town to town, all the way to
Caesarea, telling people about Jesus.
