Topic: Have you left Sinai? | |

The Word of God has beautiful
descriptions in describing the old and new testaments. One of such is, Mount Sinai for the old testament, and Mount Zion for the new. It's saddening that many believers think that the difference between the old and new testaments is a blank page in their Bibles. My question to you, my friend, today is: Have you left Sinai? What does Sinai represent? Hebrews 12:18-21, 'For ye are not come unto the mount that might be touched, and that burned with fire, nor unto blackness, and darkness, and tempest, And the sound of a trumpet, and the voice of words; which voice they that heard intreated that the word should not be spoken to them any more: (For they could not endure that which was commanded, And if so much as a beast touch the mountain, it shall be stoned, or thrust through with a dart: And so terrible was the sight, that Moses said, I exceedingly fear and quake'. This was the operation of the old testament. It was a dispensation of fear and trepidation! The law did two things; it fueled sin (1 Corinthians 15:56) and it fueled God's anger (Romans 4:15). But, God has brought that to an end! Glory! The present reality is this: Hebrews 12:22-24, 'But ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels,To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect, And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel.' The phrase, 'better things' is from the Greek, ' kreittōn'. It means, 'more advantageous, more beneficial to another'. The dispensation of Grace ushered in by Christ is more advantageous to us. The law served to show man his inability to meet up to God's standard. Grace is God's invitation to watch him make his dream come true for your life. It's his call to watch him accomplish in you all that human effort, represented by the law of Moses couldn't do. Grace has brought about a recreation; not a reformation of sinners! We are his workmanship that he ordained in Christ unto good works-Ephesians 2:10! Titus 2:14, 'Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.' This is what God has made us out to be; a people zealous of good works! You cannot dwell on Sinai and Zion at the same time! Dwelling on Sinai frustrates dwelling on Zion; Grace's capitol- Galatians 2:21! The law of Moses has been abolished! A new law has been enacted; the Law of love! It's God's own life walk! Walking in love is all about receiving God's love for you and reflecting same! Walk in love, knowing you are loved! # Grace # Pleroma |
