My son learned on a potty chair then progressed to standing.A two yr old can not be a sissy and i hope you do not call him that.My son had a doll at 2 and he loved to hug it and play daddy. He has also tried on my nylons and has more stuffed animals then I can count. This being said he is all boy but he will grow to have a sensitive side because I never belittled him with the sissy tag.

I was the one that potty trained my nephew. I started with having him sit on a potty chair and after a few weeks I explained to him that boys and girls pee different, but poop the same. I would say "how do little boys go pee pee?" he'd answer "standing up" "how do little boys poo poo?" he'd answer sitting. Once he seemed to understand the concept all it took was his little floating boat to use for aim, its too big to flush and totally washable cus its plastic. (but still ONLY use it for the potty...lol, you don't want him tryin to pee on it in the hallway)

OMG!!!! You used a toy boat for a child to PEE ON??!! I am shocked and have NEVER heard of anything so unappropriate in my life!!! Please do not give this advice for new Mommies anymore!! Cheerios will work fine and you won't have to 'fish' them out of the toilet after being PEED ON!!! How unsanitary and NASTY the thought is unconceivable and unimaginative to me. How does anyone else feel about this advice?

LOL
The easiest way to train a boy............... I have one........... Put froot loops in the toliet, and tell him to aim for them. Then for everyone he hits, give em a nickle. I promise, hell be rich in a week! And youll go broke buying froot loops |

well when my son was a toddler learning
i cut a plastic jug into a urinal and hung it by the toilet then he could stand up and be able to move it to have better aim and i also told him if he can't hit where he is aiming then sit down which still causes a mess on occasion and if he makes a mess he cleans it up with supervision of course |

I remember once my little cousin asked to stand by to door whilst he pee'd (peed, peeed? (O_O)) he was scared that the praying mantis that lived in the bathroom was gonna attack.
so he's whizzing away whilst starting at the mantis. not a drop landed in the loo. rofl. |

I use to throw a few Froot Loops in the toilet and tell my boys to aim for a certain color....we use to play a game that way and it never made a mess.

sit 1st - standing later - we never needed any "pool toys"
just told him to hit the water....worked fine favorite moment when he was so proud of going standing up! he was teaching his friend at preschool. friend is doing it too! so exciting! friend turns to him mid-stream look! i'm doing it! all over my son's pants! this is a valuable lesson about choosing teaching as a career |
