One girlfriend made me wait until my birthday and I suppose that helped to make it memorable. I don't really mind as long as it feels like it's leading somewhere but they can get away if you faff around doing the just getting to know each other as friends thing.

That's my opinion. I think that you have to chase women a bit and that chemistry is to an extent manufactured. I also think that it's better to start off casual and see how that goes, rather than getting all serious too quickly and I don't see anything particularly mature about Victorian quasi religious values. That just seems really backward to me and to me those people sound like they have been brainwashed by parents or society and haven't developed any real capacity to think for themselves.
