NCS, i get your point. I don't doubt they bad experiences existed. Shucks, I wrote something about a gal being of a sweet disposition because i tire of those that are bitter shrews that want an entertainer more than a partner. I may be amusing at times but I'm not a showman. You have to be as interesting as you desire another to be.

And, I assume a person's past relationship(s) didn't go well, otherwise they wouldn't be here. But it is kind of off putting when you see that "children are the world/come first/you better understand that" business. (I already assume the vast majority of mothers love their children). It brings to mind that date from hell we've all endured where we spent an entire evening hearing an endless diatribe of all the injustices suffered at the hand of the "ex".

I just want to know how they rationalize their children being their "world" and "reason for living" versus spending hours online trying to meet a someone.

One can be honest AND graceful - "I have children and desire a man that has family values" - gets the point across without seeming like one is angry or has something to prove. That other stuff, well, just goes without saying.

To quote a quip:
"Who are you trying to convince; me or yourself?"
