Okay, got to share and ask opinions. Those of you that know me, know I am far from shy.

I was hanging out with a guy friend earlier this week. His is an athelete so does get sweaty. However, he had some horrid BO and had not been working out before we got together. Should I have said something? Bought him some soap and deodorant as a hint?

I understand stinky. I have a little boy who generally smells like a wet puppy dog. This was borderline offensive, but I don't want to hurt his feelings.

Help me out here!

As a friend you should help your friends

There has to be a DELICATE way to tell him. If you thought that you would have hurt his feelings, then I would not say anything. Why would you want to HURT him?

Ask him if he's using a new deoderant. My son was using Axe for a while and it made him reek. I had to get him some Mitchum and that did the trick. If you do tell him do it at a time so that he can take care of it instead of dwelling on it while youre hanging out.

Be gentle and tell him. He is your friend. Perhaps he does'nt relize it.

Nothing worse than pit oder...
I know someone who has very offensive pit oder and just does'nt want to do anything about it. huh

Thanks for input, my Darlings.

My late father had horrid BO when sweaty. He would break though all deodorants known to man. However, him I could tell and he would respond that I was a crazy kid.

If this happens again, I will say something. Espcecially if we are in public. He is on the search for a new lady and I got to look out for him.

Hugs, M

my daughter had a problem with major underarm odor...smelled like onions, lol. I took her to the doctor and she gave her a presciption roll on which i now believe is available at walgreens in the deodorant isle..cant remember what it is called but it helps dry up the excessive sweating, also good on sweaty palms or feet...and the odor goes away. there is something in many deodorants that makes her smell bad...mitchium is one of the few that she can use.

Impromptu, off-the-cuff commentary can sometimes make it through easier than a well thought out discussion because it just seems like an immediate thought rather than something you have been thinking about a long time. So just next time he smells like hell say "you smell like hell, you need to work on that some".

Sometimes being a little crass is the least offensive way.

Just ask can i be honest with you without hurting your feelings because i would want you to do the same for me, better hearing it from you than someone else...

it could be a reaction to something he wears too. Acrylic used in socks can make some people's feet stink. Maybe it's the deoderent he uses.
Just be polite and explain why you're telling him.

You all are too funny. Thanks for the input.

It was not a material wearing thing. It was all armpit. If it creeps up (for lack of a better term), I will say something. And when I do be assured I will share the details.

LOL @ Gypsy!

Well, karma goes and bites me in the behind again! I just dropped off my boy at his Dad's. Went for my usual Sunday morning breakfast out (all on my own). Came home and got a whiff of myself while getting my stuff out of the car. Not pleasant to say the least. Going up now to disinfect and deordorize myself.

Movie date this afternoon and I so don't want to offend.
