What's the etiquette with Facebook dating? Is it creepy to send a message to a friend of a friend? Or is better to not go there...asking for trouble?

it's not creepy as you have a friend in common , that is OK and is considered normal , but it would be better to inform the friend in common about that before sending the message ..

Yes...that makes sense! Could get messy if she likes him.

This is how one of my colleagues met her partner - she asked her mutual friend and, they have been together for 2 years and going strong |

I've not got many friends on Facebook but I added a friend of my sister's after a party. I would just rather talk to her in person and have done so since.
I don't know about using Facebook as a dating thing. I spoke to a friend of mine and she said that it's more the younger people that use it like that. |
