Topic: The Seasons of Our Lives | |

This is a set of poems I wrote back in January when I was bored. I don't write a lot but every once in awhile, I'm inspired.
Winter Two cardinals sitting On a branch made of ice Huddled together, this perfect device Blistering winds pull our scarves to its beat Our footsteps tread lightly Keeping time on the street And no need for words Our love is divine To know that you’re with me and all that is mine Spring The trees are all shedding Their skin made of frost A promise renewed, no secrets are lost Dark clouds rolling in, the sign of a storm I shelter you in me So safe and so warm The rain starts to fall A sound so serene The two of us smiling, what a beautiful scene Summer Crickets are singing A song for the moon Naked and sweating and melting in June The depths of the lake, our place to reside Away from the insects The stars are the guide With grace ever present We drift all along A river called life, in love we belong Fall Tanned landscape upon us Leaves falling like feathers Mourning for flowers that died all together Night becomes longer, the Sun becomes shy Reflecting the color Of a burning red sky Another year passing Our feelings hold true Forever in love, forever with you |
