how long should you talk on line before going to meet someone?
|

I think it depends.
If you talk too long, the person loses interest. If you agree to meet someone too soon, you don't know them well enough. I guess it just depends on the person. |

I feel the sooner you meet the sooner you know if it is worth your time.

If they are across the street,,,,5 minutes,,,lol,,,lol
If they are across town,,,15 minutes,,,lol |

i think each encounter has different circumstances...so it depends on the individuals involved.

How long should you talk on the telephone before meeting someone?

I think it just depends on you. I don't think there really is a time line, its whenever you are comfortable. I started talking to someone in Feb and I met them in April.
We spent many hours on the phone every day, so I got to know him very well. When we met it was like meeting someone that I knew for a very long time. There wasn't a moment that I felt uncomfortable at all. So I think you need just to figure out how long it should be for you. Use your best judgement on how to go about meeting. If it should be in a public place or if there are going to be people around. Just be safe!! Good luck |

Hi honey Long time NO see. I know all about planes...BUT, it is kind of hard to get together for dinner on a Friday night. I'm sure you know what I mean. I don't think he will feel REAL to me, until we do meet one another. You know what I mean? |

TheCaptain and I were talking on here regularly for about two months before we met in person. But that was because he was coming to the East coast for a conference and I flew to Baltimore to be with him. (He's from Idaho and I live in NY).
We just figured that was the right time to meet because of the coincidence , but it is up to the idividuals when it seems right. Good luck to you Bluegirl! |

By the way......he blew off the conference after about three hours and didn't go back for day two....

If I ever decide to meet someone in person, I think I will treat it the same as a blind date.
But, it will be in a public place with lots of people. |

Puffins,
I do understand all about that!! Trust me, its hard...once you meet and then they have to leave. I honestly don't know if its worth it!!! Would I ever do long distance again? I don't think I would!! Esp if they were 1500 miles away again...nope I don't think its for me!! But I wish you luck |

Thanks unsure, but if we don't meet how will I ever know?? I will take my time. Has anyone out there met and are now in 'love'? or 'like'? I'm ready to give up ever finding a good man to share my life with.

You only have a few posts.... How do you expect people to "see" you? Post more, let everyone see you....it does take some time to be here, believe me |

Blue, don't give up. The person you are looking for is out there somewhere. You just have to keep looking.
