In preparing for a debate against a person of questionable intentions that almost makes one question the intelligence, I happened to come across some material on a topic that I have some interest, freedom, I came across a site that I wanted to share here:
About the Green Shadow Cabinet of the United States And as an introduction to the Green Shadow Cabinet, I would like to share an article: Ukraine and the Pathology of the Liberal Worldview: An African American Perspective Reading the March 2 editorial in the New York Times on the so-called revolution in Ukraine, I couldn't help but marvel at how easily elite opinion makers in the U.S. can call for the use of public resources to bail out the people and government of Ukraine without significant opposition or even serious questions. The Times editorial forcefully argued that in response to the "revolution" in Ukraine, Western powers must "provide prompt and substantial assistance to the Kiev government." This sentiment was also voiced by a number of conservative Republicans who normally pretend to be fiscal conservatives, at least when it comes to state expenditures for working class and poor people in the U.S. In response, the Obama administration is calling on Congress to agree to a long-term aid package for Ukraine and announced on Tuesday a short-term billion dollar aid package. Yet, when it comes to crisis situations like extending unemployment benefits to the 1.3 million people who lost them in December or the forced bankruptcy of Detroit, a major city that happens to have an African American majority, or maintaining food assistance for the working class and poor in the form of the food stamp program, elite opinion in both parties has embraced the "common sense" position that significant reductions in public expenditures and services at every level of government are a reasonable and unavoidable necessity. The Times editorial further argued that since President Yanukovych left the Ukrainian treasury bare, the West should provide immediate assistance. But what about the people in Detroit, whose government coffers were left bare as result of the predatory looting by big banks that targeted African American families with sub-prime loans and floating interests rates that resulted in them losing their homes? Where is their relief? And when those same banks seized the properties of more than 100,000 families through foreclosure and then refused to pay property taxes to the city of Detroit-helping to create a fiscal crisis for the city-where was the Federal assistance to replenish the city's coffers? An interesting perspective. |

my intentions are crystal clear.. I abhor socialists and their cheerleaders.. what kind of intellect does it take to promulgate a failed ideology? apparently.. not much Yeah. Whereas the Ukraine is trying to stay away from socialism, the people of Detroit kept electing socialist politicians, who in turn supported the socialist leaders of the labor unions. |

Quite frankly, I do not see how it is in the vital U.S. interest for the USA to give the Ukraine any financial support.

Comparing what is happening in Crimea to what is happening in Detroit? ![]() Where is any comparison as you suggest, this is a criticism of the the whole administration that can offer $1 billion to a foreign country but offers nothing to the citizens. The administration that supports a neo-con fascist but let's Americans sink. An administration that supports the banks in Ukraine with an IMF loan to protect their profits but let's the banks foreclose and then ignore paying the property taxes here in the US, exacerbating an already critical problem. True Detroit is no mecca of capitalism but they are still America. |

my intentions are crystal clear.. I abhor socialists and their cheerleaders.. what kind of intellect does it take to promulgate a failed ideology? apparently.. not much There is absolutely no doubt in my mind as to your intentions, they are crystal clear. The whole problem with these united States is a population of supposedly educated people that confuses indoctrination with education. They have been indoctrinated with a way of thinking that instills a process of not thinking. In other words they have a problem with seeing the forest for the trees. They seem to have a problem of seeing the truth because of a false perception of the world. That perception usually manifests itself in the false judgement of events because they can't be registered as reality. The result is a misjudgement of the underlying causes due to a misjudgement of the effects. If that is what you want as your world, go ahead but I prefer to look at all angles and pass my own judgement, not the view from a rut. |

What kind of a government do we really have? |

I thought the Ukraine was the breadbasket of the old USSR? why I said farmers |

The author obviously isn't from the Detroit area or he just hates to admit what has really happened in "De-toilet".
The biggest looter of the black people in Detroit is now in prison...his name is Kwame Kilpatrick, an African American that was the majority of Detroit who the majority of residents elected as their mayor more than once. Kwame and his cohorts, which includes his father, robbed that city blind. And guess who got saddled with the millions spent on his defense in the courts? He actually had the nerve to complain when his license to practice law was taken away by the state after his first conviction. The foreclosures in Detroit were cause by borrowers abandoning houses and fleeing from the neighborhoods infested with criminals. He didn't mention that those houses have been stripped of copper and other salvage materials making them virtually worthless. Why would a bank or any individual pay the real estate taxes on those properties? There are occupied dwellings that are years behind in property taxes and there are ads on TV by the county treasurer asking people to contact his office so he can help them keep their houses because he doesn't want to foreclose on them. |

But this really has nothing to do with Detroit per se, Detroit is but the metaphor. The point of the argument is but how the federal government can always find money to support a foreign entity, but total ignore the needs of the citizens. True Detroit has been turned into a total cesspool by the local government, but the people there are still US citizens that have been sold down the drain. But the government is willing to send our daughters and sons to die on some foreign soil for some perceived wrong against this country, but could care less about what needs addressing internally. |

Using untruths as facts or even misrepresenting facts isn't a metaphor, it's deception. I don't care what side of an issue you are on.
