I wish I was taller, preferably above 6 feet.I'm only 5/4. I am also real shy around women, which doesn't really help matters. I look so young that I think this is why women don't want nothing to do with me. I am 29 years old. I am only getting older while I still have the appearance of a teenager and it worries me. I can't stand being alone but I feel there's nothing I can do about that because I am just so shy and I look very young. Every time I go to the local casino here in las Vegas, I get carded because I look like I am under 21.. even the women there serving drinks card me. Sometimes I feel like I just don't belong.

I have this exact problem.....IRL some people even have mistaken me for a 13-year-old. >.>;; I am 28, and look 10 years or more younger. Nobody IRL has ever guessed my age as over 18, even when I do wear make-up to make myself appear older. Looks like we have that Eternal-Youth curse. It's just something we're going to have to deal with and as someone once told me, we'll appreciate it when we reach our older years ^^ so something to look forward to when I'm 80 and look fricking 30 finally haha.

There are a few benefits to looking young.. but when you are as shy as I am, it makes you feel trapped with no way out.. I guess it's just my loneliness talking.. |

*hugs* I don't have the shyness issue, and one other thing I found out I like about looking young is that people never look at me weird when I squeal and go hyper. They think I'm just a typical little kid/teenager. XD But I can see where social awkwardness could come into play. I'm not sure how to conquer shyness, but maybe try to push a little out of your comfort zone, try not to let your looks hinder you, be confident! If you're confident no matter how you appear, we girls can sense that. If you're comfortable with you, then more likely we will be comfortable with you.

If you're confident no matter how you appear, we girls can sense that. If you're comfortable with you, then more likely we will be comfortable with you. I tried breaking out of my shyness but when I did that, I was only taken advantage of by women. I had a girlfriend once and we met on one of the chat rooms. When we first met, I took a flight all the way to where she was in Tennessee and we did have a good time. When I returned back home after spending a week there, things started getting bad between us. Before her, there was this other woman who was also a lot older than me, she used me for my money, was ashamed of me, and constantly lied to me and insulted me in public. So all that, has actually broken my confidence down by a lot. I just dont wanna be hurt again. |

Then you have to weigh it. Would you rather be alone or take the risk? Many people, including me, have been used and abused in relationships, but the only way you're going to find someone is to try, try again. Look for the red flags and be more cautious, but there will always be risk. The only way there wouldn't be is if we could read the minds/hearts of everyone else!

Watching for Red Flags in people's stories is always a good clue of who to protect yourself from.

I can also sympathize.... I am quite close to 37 and get "carded" when my little brother (7 yrs younger doesn't) or when on a date with a man my age or a few years older.....
I say....ENJOY IT!!!! I know I have good genes, so....even though one of the commenter s says "wait until you are 40..." I say....ppphooey!!! not ALL @ 40 look 40!!! Live your life as YOU wish, and the one happy to be there and enjoy your mature life yet youthful exterior is somewhere around the corner..... |

When they start offering you senior discount before you're a senior you'll wish you still looked young

Hey I know I don't look young 58 and no hair but I got carded the other day... Ah that's just California or maybe it was the clown get up and the red wig that worried the bartender

You don't understand how lucky you are ;) Wish I looked youthful. Yeah, I know it can be annoying, when security don't believe you're over eighteen, but having eternal youth means your skin won't have wrinkles, when it eventually happens to all of your friends. You have youth on your side :)

I can't believe you'd be upset about looking younger than your age. If everyone had that problem, the beauty industry would be practically non-existent. Enjoy it for as long as it last!

Don't knock it, looking young. Just think, one day you'll be old, and wishing to be young. It's a no win situation, really. We all seem to wish for what we can't have, myself included.

I agree with what the rest have said on this thread. Poor you. . Come on bud, I think deep down inside, even YOU know yourself the advantages it can bring. My mum is fifty. She looks twenty. If she can do it, so can you. But oh, alas, what a tragedy. *Sarc*
