Ukrainian soldiers detain one of the "green men" unidentified soldiers. The guy is from Russian army, Yoshkar-Ola city. Name: Aleksei Medvedev. Invasion proved. Putin - liar.

Well that would be just plain wrong, no invasion at all, he has treaty that he is well within the boundaries of it's terms. In fact he can add addition troops, up to 20,000 and keep them there until 2042.

Here's something you won't read in the mainstream media: Ukraine's fake revolution is over. It ended when Russian Intelligence agents uncovered a plan by coup plotters to destabilize the Crimea using the same strategy they'd used in Kiev, that is, seizing government buildings, inciting violence, and spreading terror. The discovery, which included "hacked" e mails, shaped events on the ground. Russian troops were deployed to beef up security at the airports and government buildings making it impossible for the putsch to succeed. In other words, the Kremlin implemented its own "preemption" scheme and it worked like a charm. The Washington-backed coup in the Crimea was foiled and order was maintained. Score one for Russia. Here's the scoop from blogger Moon of Alabama from a post titled "The Crimean Anti-Coup Move". Here's an excerpt:

"On February 27 Russian forces stationed in the Crimea and supported by allegedly local paramilitary took over security at two airports and of some government buildings in Crimean cities. A Turkish flight to Simferopol airport was called back and further Turkish fights to Crimea were canceled." ("The Crimean Anti-Coup Move" Moon of Alabama,)

This just posted as a headline on Foxnews.com, as soon as the article is up I will post it.

Sound's like he is trying to prove once again to the world how cowardly Obama is.

Putin is an Idiot!
He got what he wanted,so why escalate it?
He probably is as much of a Coward as is US Counterpart!
Little Boys having a Pi$$ing-Contest!
At least Putin has a backbone? Unlike that idiot in the White House? Plus he'd kick Obama's arse at Judo? Lol

Another prejudicial assumption. OJ Simpson was charged with murder and due to the total incompetence of the LA police department was not convicted, so he is not a murderer, just strongly suspected.

Now with the demeanor of Putin, there is no doubt that he could and would "pull the trigger" as they say. But while there is rhetoric galore about the possibility, where has he been formally charged must less convicted?

On the other hand, let's look at Odumbo, he wouldn't have the guts to do anything himself except adjust the crown so he "looks" good. But in contrast he has stood up and not only admitted but proclaimed his right to kill anyone he deems necessary by telling others to do so. And then he has followed up and done just that. But matters get worse, he actually flaunts it.

So just whom is the real murderer?

Kharkiv Pact?

A treaty that was ratified by both sides carrying the force of law. But that is not the full extent of things.

In the middle are the people of the Ukraine. Their manipulation by outside forces since the fall of the Soviet Union is a confusing, occasionally tragic replay of their long history as a people. Their voice is becoming dimmer as outside powers raise the stakes. The presence of neo-nazi elements in prominent positions in the opposition has diminished support for the protest movement. According to individuals and small groups inside Ukraine that have posted on the internet or emailed me, the dominant theme of the Maidan protests seemed to be a mildly pro-western Ukrainian nationalism, somewhat liberal as far as social issues are concerned and neoliberal economically.

Crimean Shock Waves

Apparently, the standard recipe for a country that can't pay its bills (Ukraine is looking at a couple of likely bond defaults this summer) is an IMF rescue package contingent on implementation of austerity measures.

In human terms, the prescription is for pain: devaluing the currency to boost exports (while making imports more expensive), making the economic environment more attractive for foreign investment (depressed wages, business-friendly laws & regs), and keeping the foreign bondholders happy (balanced budgets, focus on debt repayment, bye-bye services, pensions, & deficit stimulus).

The key question will be if misery achieves the level of Greece & Spain (likely) and if Ukraine will turn the corner toward economic growth with reasonable alacrity (?).

Thanks to the precipitous success of the coup, the new government finds itself with the prospect of the Ukrainian engine firing on only the European half of its geopolitical cylinders and a significant portion of the electorate presumably displeased with the Hobson’s choice of IMF austerity that the coup has forced upon it.
