Topic: He Goes All The Way! | |

I usually don’t like Indian films, but
there’s this one I watched a long time ago that has stuck in my memories. A poor woman was framed for murdering her husband. With the poison as the evidence, there was no possible way of absolving her of the crime she did not commit. Her lawyer was a bright law graduate, fresh from law school. He could have wished for a better case to start his legal career, but wishes are not horses. Something remarkable happened the day the case was judged in court. The judge wanted a quick trail, as the overwhelming evidence (the poison) was offered as the one and only piece of evidence by the prosecution team. The young lawyer stood up and told the judge that his client was innocent and that the purported poison could not kill even a rat. Before anyone could imagine where he was going with his argument, he grabbed the poison and emptied it into his mouth. The court was in shock. The widow was acquitted instantly. The lawyer was operated upon in an ambulance on the way to the hospital a few seconds after the court drama, and he didn’t die. Agreed, this is just fiction, but the story mirrors what the Bible says in John 15:13: “Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.” Jesus actually died for you and me. There’s therefore no limit to how far He can go in helping us in times of trouble! Psalm 50:15 says, “And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver you, and you shall glorify me.” And Psalm 46:1 say, “God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.” May God's grace, love, joy, goodness and mercies overshadow you and yours today, this week, this month, and indeed this year in Jesus mighty Name. Amen! Remain blessed! |
