Amash introduces legislation criticizing Common Core

"The federal government should not impose Common Core standards and curriculum on our kids," said Amash. "We have a strong tradition in this country of parental control of education, which fosters competition and diverse approaches to learning. That tradition is embodied in the Tenth Amendment, which is supposed to bar this kind of federal interference."

Link failure, got there but had to manipulate link. Anyway, "common core" is rotten to the core. I have a daughter that is a teacher in the fifth grade and she embraces this tripe.

But here is the skinny:

But the thing I liked best here is a comment:

Hmmm, education and Common Core:
1."National Governer's Assocation" DC based trade association.
2. "Council of Chief State School Officers" DC based trade association.
3. "Acheive, Inc." A progreesive non profit group based in DC. Funded by Bill Gates.
4. Dept. Of Education
5. Let's not forget the American Federation of Teachers.
If Joseph Stalin delivered his own "I Have a Dream" speech it would be based on Common Core.
